Lenovo Y500 and Z500

Lenovo has introduced an update of its IdeaPad laptops with the launch of the Y500 and the Z500. Both laptops are powered by third generation Intel Core processors (Ivy Bridge) and are compatible with Windows 8.
According to a press release, the Lenovo IdeaPad Y500 boasts of the UltraBay feature - an interchangeable bay that users can utilize to slot in an extra graphics card, hard drive or an additional fan for cooling. The Y500 also features a carbon fibre patterned cover, 15.6-inch LED backlit widescreen HD displays, and a dual-layer backlit AccuType keyboard with a one-piece touchpad.
The main features of the Ideapad Y500 laptop include (specs listed below are for the top of the line variant):

  • Nvidia GeForce GT 650M 2GB graphics card with SLI support
  • Windows 8 operating system
  • 15.6-inch full HD Backlit LED display 16GB DDR3 memory
  • 1TB HDD storage
  • 750GB interchangeable HDD storage bay
  • Interchangeable DVD reader
  • JBL speakers and Dolby Home Theatre v4
  • Backlit Keyboard
  • Two years warranty in India including Accidental Damage Warranty.
The key features of the Z500 laptop include (specs listed below are for the top of the line variant):
  • Intel Core i7 (3rd generation) processor
  • Nvidia GeForce GT 645M 2GB graphics card
  • Windows 8 operating system
  • 15.6-inch Backlit LED display with a resolution of 1366×768 pixels
  • 8GB DDR3 RAM
  • 1TB HDD storage
  • Two years warranty in India including Accidental Damage Warranty.
The Lenovo IdeaPad Y500 is now available in India starting at Rs. 64,290 (exclusive of taxes), while the IdeaPad Z500 is available starting Rs. 48,990 (exclusive of taxes).
